Think Pink

Estée Lauder spokesmodel Elizabeth Hurley takes The Estée Edit on a tour of her little pink dress collection.

Since becoming a spokesmodel for Estée Lauder in 1995, British-born actress and model Elizabeth Hurley has been way more than just another pretty face.  As an ambassador for The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign and a tireless fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF)—Hurley has spent the last twenty years traveling the world every October, raising funds and awareness for the disease. One of her other unofficial duties: to preach pink wherever she goes.

Sometimes you try on a dress, and you know it's a winner

Since Evelyn Lauder and for Self
Magazine editor Alexandra Penney
launched the now-ubiquitous pink
ribbon campaign in 1992 as a symbol
of the illness that plagues mothers,
sisters, daughters, and wives, the
color pink has come to represent the fight
to end the epidemic, with Hurley as
perhaps its most visible advocate. For
every event she attends, party she
hosts, and famous monument she
lights-up with the rosy hue for the
Global Landmarks Illumination
Initiative, Hurley has worn a little pink
dress. Here, the 2009 recipient of the
BCRF’s Humanitarian Award looks
back on a few of her favorite frocks.
